The quintessential classical ballet, Sleeping Beauty delivers high drama, tender romance, and glorious Tchaikovsky music which have made it a favorite with adults and children for more than a hundred years. The ballet is filled with familiar characters including Princess Aurora, the Handsome Prince, the King and Queen and their splendid Royal Court, as well as characters from the fairy realm: the Lilac Fairy, the wicked Carabosse, Puss in Boots, Red Riding Hood, the Blue Bird and the Enchanted Princess. One of New Jersey Ballet’s Matinees for Kids & Families, the ballet is performed with New Jersey Ballet’s original “storyteller” narration so even the littlest theater-goer can keep up with ease. Sleeping Beauty is a splendid introduction to dance theater for young people and enjoyable entertainment for the whole family.
