Rodeo and Giselle
At The Community Theatre
March 29 at 8PM
It’s all about what a girl will do for a guy. Two ballet masterpieces, two very different styles.
Agnes deMille created Rodeo in the1940s around a feisty tomboy who tries to be one of the boys, but gets her guy only when she decides to be a girl. The greatest of the Americana ballets, Rodeo, with its memorable score by Aaron Copland, is presented with the cooperation of deMille productions, Anderson Ferrell, Director.
In a romantic 1840s take on the same theme, the fragile Giselle pits herself against a pack of vengeful ghosts to save the Prince who won her heart—and broke it. Act II of Giselle is an unrivaled masterpiece, a poem to a love stronger than death.
Rodeo and Giselle Act II at The Community Theatre at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts, Morristown. Saturday, March 29 at 8PM. Tickets $40, $30, $20. Box Office 973-539-8008 online at www.mayoarts.org.
