EMILY BARROWS began dancing at her local dance studio at the age of 8. Later, she enrolled in pre-professional programs at Festival Ballet Providence and Koltun Ballet Boston, where she had the opportunity to perform a variation from Sleeping Beauty at Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival. Ms. Barrows has trained at a number of summer intensive programs including Orlando Ballet, Ballet Austin, Atlanta Ballet, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet where she studied year round under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary in 2015. From there, she went on to join the conservatory program at Atlanta Ballet on full scholarship dancing company roles in John McFall’s The Nutcracker. She was offered a trainee position with Grand Rapids Ballet in 2017, and was promoted to apprentice in 2019. Ms. Barrows performed featured roles including Marzipan and Spanish in Val Caniparoli’s The Nutcracker, as well as in several new works including Penny Saunders and The Happy Prince and Other Wilde Tales. Prior to joining New Jersey Ballet, Ms. Barrows performed with Minnesota Ballet.
