In Loving Memory
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of New Jersey Ballet's beloved bookkeeper, Deborah "Debbie" Cronk.
Debbie was employed by New Jersey Ballet for nearly a decade and was loved by all who crossed her path. She and her dog Smokey quickly became part of the team and we looked forward to seeing them at the office every day. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was kind, stylish, thoughtful, hardworking and cared deeply for everyone at New Jersey Ballet. It was very easy to have a conversation with her and she welcomed everyone into her office, even if just to chat.
Debbie had a passion for ballet and truly appreciated the work and grace involved with the art form. She was fascinated by the work behind the scenes and loved being part of the organization. She would even bring her grandson, Julian to watch some of the company run-thrus before a performance.
Debbie is survived by her daughter, Jessica, son, Brian and grandson, Julian.
Words cannot express how profoundly missed Debbie will be at New Jersey Ballet.
Fall 2020 Virtual Season
New Jersey Ballet is proud to announce its upcoming Fall 2020 Virtual Season, which will be recorded in the Ballet's Studio Theatre in Florham Park. With generous support from the Union Foundation and E.J. Grassmann Trust, New Jersey Ballet recently completed outfitting the space with new state-of-the-art LED lighting and equipment and curtains to provide a professional backdrop.
While current COVID-19 restrictions prevent New Jersey Ballet from presenting large performances, the Ballet is committed to presenting world-class ballet to the public during these challenging times.
New Jersey Ballet's Virtual Season will include solo works, rarely seen archival footage, and a special series celebrating New Jersey Ballet's production of Nutcracker. This season was supposed to mark the production's 50th Anniversary, but will instead provide history about New Jersey's longest running professional production, highlights from the archives, and newly recorded excerpts. This season's virtual presentation of Nutcracker will include students from New Jersey School of Ballet's Intensive Program.
All footage captured in New Jersey Ballet's Studio Theatre will follow CDC and local health authority guidelines. The safety of New Jersey Ballet's dancers, staff and students are of utmost importance and extensive protocols are in place to create a safe environment based on current guidance from the CDC and local health officials.
