TRAINEE PROGRAM 

"As we begin our trainee program, I look forward to aiding in the development of these young budding artists. I recall from my early days as a student the difficulty transitioning from dancing a few hours a day to a full company schedule. My hope is to offer support and guidance to these aspiring professionals during this phase in their lives."

New Jersey Ballet is excited to offer a trainee program bridging the gap between student and professional. Selected dancers will join a pre-professional level that allows them the opportunity to partake in a company member’s daily schedule. The program will also provide an array of exclusive classes to ensure each trainee is prepared to enter the demands of professional company life. 

Trainees are selected on an annual basis by New Jersey Ballet’s Artistic Director. Auditions can be submitted online or scheduled in person.

As a trainee, you will participate in daily ballet technique class taught by New Jersey Ballet faculty members. Exclusive strengthening classes are also offered. These include; Partnering, Pointe, Variations, Contemporary, Pilates, Master Stretch, Makeup/Hair, and Stage Craft. As a trainee, you will also have access to classes at NJB School.

During the New Jersey Ballet season, trainees will have the ability to take class with the Company, rehearse, and learn repertory. Performance opportunities with New Jersey Ballet are also a big part of life as a trainee. However, these are always offered at the discretion of the Artistic Director.
